A significant turning point in the work of famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright, this design helped introduce a new aesthetic that was to culminate in the now-famous Prairie School style. Here, Wright abandons the more picturesque and traditional styles of the day, substituting his own strongly geometric style along with the decorative richness of his mentor and former employer, Louis Sullivan. The decorative frieze was executed by sculptor Richard Bock. This building was designed for Isidore H. Heller, a meatpacker.
