Foster House is one of the few surviving buildings in Chicago designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, one of the world's most famous architects. Its Japanese-influenced design stands as an important part of the development of Wright's influential architectural style. The house and its stable were constructed as a summer residence for Stephen Foster, an attorney who was a member of the real estate group that developed this portion of West Pullman.
