This industrial building was constructed to house a leading Chicago manufacturer of union suits and other men¿s and women¿s underwear and exemplifies the importance of industry and manufacturing in the history of Chicago. It was built in two stages and is a fine example of a concrete-frame loft manufacturing building. The building¿s distinctive tower, designed to hide a water tank, is a visual landmark to the surrounding neighborhood and thousands of daily commuters on the adjacent Kennedy Expressway and Metra rail line.
