Map Grid¶
The map grid is interactive, a user can navigate the map using a mouse, keyboard and for mobile devices by swiping with an index finger or pin.
The grid has an automatic refresh mechanism for replotting and repositioning the data points on the grid; when the map is being moved or manipulated.
The data appears on the grid as points or markers with a maximum of 6000 points and a max of 20 markers. A retractable information box appears to the bottom right of the grid when a search is executed; displaying the number of records found or an error message pertaining to a search, if any occurs.
The data point/marker has Google street view feature embedded, which allows physical images of locations to be displayed within the data points mapped on the grid.
For city departments (CDOT, OEMC, etc.) utilizing WindyGrid for public safety purposes, Google maps provides a panoramic view from various positions that allows the user to look at the streets and nearby buildings.

Note
When multiple criteria type within a dataset is being displayed for a search; the behavior of the application will plot multiple data criteria type from the dataset on the map based off the color representation given in the initial query setup. See “Color Option”.
