Charts¶
A chart is a graphical depiction of tabular numeric data and qualitative data measured in symbols or shapes that are categorized to compare, organize and transform data into a bar, line or a pie chart. These types of graphs are used to supply a visual understanding of large quantities of data and the relationship between the parts being presented on the map.
Charts are available in the table grid which is activated when a search has been performed with valid results. The charts offers multiple aggregation types, time series and non-time series graphing capabilities on the horizontal and vertical axis.
Create A Chart¶
- After a search is executed.
- Expand the Table Grid located at the bottom of the map.
- Click on the chart icon.
- Select a chart type.
- Select a value to be displayed on the horizontal axis.
- Select a value to be displayed on the vertical axis.
- If, applicable select the aggregated function from the "Summarize Using" drop-list.
Components of a chart¶
Chart Title: The chart title is often a descriptive text of what the chart displays.
Chart Type:
- Pie graph display statistical data that’s divided into slices to demonstrate numerical proportions. Each slice is proportion into a quantity it represents.
- Line graph displays information that continuously changes overtime.
- Bar graph is a graphical presentation that displays data using horizontal bars. The data within the bar measures in different heights.
Horizontal Axis Values: Displays time and non-time series data.
Vertical Axis Values: Displays data calculated from aggregated values.
Summarize Using: Provides a list of aggregated function types to display in the Y-axis.
-
Consist of aggregation function types:
- Count
- Sum
- Average
- Minimum
- Maximum
- Standard Deviation
- Variance
- Median
Collapsible Full Screen Window Icon: Displays the chart in full screen mode.
Legend Entry: Explains the symbols in the chart.
Vertical Axis Title: Identifies the values on the axis.
Horizontal Axis Title: Identifies the values on the axis.
Series: Set of data plotted on the grid.
Closed Button: Exit the chart.
